Came across this video on Youtube when looking at some bo staff forms.

While most of it is probably not practical in a fight, at least its entertaining to watch.

Holy cow! Is that guy even holding that thing or is it just twirling around in midair. Yeah, it would not be too useful in a fight, but I will say that if you have that level od speed and coordination, if you were to use more realistic and practical techniques you could be very dangerous. Never look down on the showy forms. They may not be immediately practical, but they will give you the speed, cooridination, and sense of timing from one technique to the next.

WOW, wow, WOW!! This is just crazy. I have so much respect for Nick after taking the weapons class last Saturday. I would love to learn some of the moves he is performing. I would assume that he has been practicing and even performing for years and years to accomplish this level of talent. I can only imagine how many times he has hit himself. I can say from experience it does not feel good even if you are not spinning it that fast. I hope we can all start to learn a little of what Nick has mastered.

I I do not believe it is meant for use in a fight, but this kind of practice is very good for building your coordination and sensitivity.  When I used to practice Escrima, one of the biggest bennifits was my coordination and sensitivity that I built up.  It is also good for demonstrations.  can you imagine what kind of response you would get from a crowd if you did this?

I thought the video was awsome though, especially when he rolled the staff on his elbows.  Very cool!
