I want to thank everyone for all your support, prayers, kind words and inspiration. Sifu Ryan, Sigung Meng and Sitigung Gee have given me an opportunity to experience a geniune kung fu life and develope authentic skills. All aspects of our training methods contributed to my success as our methods are being proven to be in tune with the reality of fighting and very effective in developing real awareness about the nature of reality, T,S,E. I would like to personally thanks Kevin Hill and Ricardo for stepping up and taking on the role of punching bag/beatdown partner. There were many others who stepped up but these two guys put in the alot of time with me in preparation for this fight. And of course, none of this would be possible without the unalloyed devotion and support from my wife and kids. They sacrifice alot for me to do what I do and I am honored to make them proud of our victory. Fight Details: Immediately at the start of the first round I recognized that my opponent was not a strong striker, his posture and movements were very revealing. I was excited, seconds into the 1st I could not resist the angle and threw a big rear leg round house that landed solid on his left outer thigh, he naturally reacted and shot in. I was up against the cage in the blink of an eye. He attempted to scoop out a leg and take me down but I reversed it and took him down with top position. I pounded him with a flury of blows and honestly thought I finished him. He effectively pulled guard. I composed myself and ripped away to my feet. The rest of the round consisted of simliar exchanges. I'd catch him with some hard hits, he'd effectively close the gap pull guard and I would get back to my feet. by the end of the first round my opponent did not want to get to close to me. Seconds before the bell he threw a wild leg kick and I landed another hard solid right cross. the second round started off the same, I caught him early in a flury of hard hits and then when he went in for the shoot I redirected him but slipped and he manage to dump me. We ended up having a nice grappling role where I ended up pulling guard and neutralize him. I continued to strilke from my guard with hammer fists and chop strikes to his ribs to end the second round. Going into the 3rd round I felt confident I had controlled the fight. He started the final engagement with a wild rear leg kick and retreated instantly, I followed up with a hard rear thrusting kick that connected on his right hip and made him sharply pivot out and end up in bad angle (for him). I captilized on the angle and connected with a stiff right straight shoulder line punch right behind the ear, that made his legs wobble and he immediately went for the shoot. I effectively expressed anti-takedown, created space with left side jong sau redirecting him to my left and caught him with a hard right hand upper cut that made his whole body crumble, I adjusted to get a better angle and landed 5/6 more very hard punches before the official jumped in to stop the fight. TKO 24 sec in the 3rd round.
Video should be available soon.
