CONGRATS!!! To Ricardo Deluque and Kevin Hill for representing Meng's Martial Arts and Fists for Life with honor and exceptional performances.   We came away with 1 amazing win and 1 dynamic loss.  Ricardo won by rear naked choke in the 2nd round after some explosive leg catch take downs and some very slick hands effectively sending his opponent into a wandering state.  On the ground Ricardo was very effective in neutralizing any attempt to gain a dominant position and was successful reversing his bottom position for effective ground and pound. Once the opportunity to take his opponents back was created Ricardo seized the moment like a python setting his hooks, securing his position, he worked some strikes to open his opponent up and then exploded with precision to lock down the choke and SQEEEEEEEEEEEEEZED!!!!!  TAP TAP TAP!!!! SWEET VICTORY!!! As will be evident on the DVD, his opponent was very strong and powerful.  This is a definite score for solid technique over brutes.
Kevin Hill fought with exceptional honor and respect. His fight was very entertaining!!  His movements coming off the ring of the bell were fluid and smooth.  The first few exchanges he demonstrated tremendous skill evading the assault and showcased disciplined effective hands. Recognizing this his opponent quickly shifted gears and shot in hard pressing Kevin against the cage.  Kevin was very nicely neutralizing and controlling that time frame working for inside control when OUT OF NOWHERE instead of going downstairs for the take down this kid literally flies in the air, leaping onto Kevin like baboon and climbing into a strong top position with head and shoulder control. Kevin held his ground maintaining his standing position for a few moments then was dragged to the ground by leverage.  His opponent effectively worked his position and gained a choke position and when Kevin made an attempt to create some space with strikes he gave up some positional control and his opponent being completely fresh out the gate was able to lock down his choke. Kevin held on strong but was forced to tap out early in the 1st round. Great experience for Kevin to grow and learn from.

I love these guys and I am very proud them both.
I cant wait to get back on the mat and back to work!!!

Thanks to everyone who  came out to support our fight team and all the blessings and love from our kung fu family around the world.

Your Ever Well Wisher,
Daniel Duran
